Stephan Herbst is currently acting as Technical General Manager of Toyota Motor Europe’s (TME) R&D2 responsible for hydrogen and sustainable mobility.

Previously, he held various positions in TME Environmental Affairs, Trend Research and Business Strategy. Dr Herbst also worked in Toyota’s Global Headquarters in Japan looking after the global environmental strategy.

He is a co-chair lead in the Sustainable Mobility Project of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

Dr Herbst studied business administration and economics and holds a PhD in environmental cost management. He worked for seven years for Volkswagen in Germany and China before joining TME in 2005.
