Professor Carol A. Dahl, is a Senior Fellow in the Payne Institute of Earth Resources and Professor Emeritus and Adjunct Professor in the Mineral and Energy Economics Program at the Colorado School of Mines, USA, an annual visiting Professor in the Economics Program, Luleå University of Technology, and an Adjunct Professor at the Academy of China Energy Strategy, China University of Petroleum-Beijing. She received a PhD (Economics) from the University of Minnesota having studied under Christopher Sims, 2010 Nobel Laureate in Economics. She has published widely in peer reviewed energy journals, regularly presents her work at international conferences and does short courses and research focusing on modelling and policy in international energy markets. Her book International Energy Markets: Understanding Prices, Profits and Policies is a Pennwell Press best seller and has been translated into Croatian and Chinese. The second edition of the book was published in July of 2015. She has been a visiting scholar to numerous universities and organizations worldwide. She is very active in the International Association for Energy Economics and received their Outstanding Contributions to the Profession Award for her contributions to the field of Energy Economics in 2013.
