Berta Cabello is responsible for developing new projects to transform Repsol’s refining business through the decarbonization of the company’s processes and products, energy efficiency, digitalization, and innovation in management processes.

She started her career in the Repsol Technology Lab in 2001, developing simulation models for process monitoring and planning purposes. In 2006 she joined the Refining Long-Term Planning team, in which she was involved in the development of new projects and technology valuation. She worked for 5 years in ILBOC, a Repsol and SK Joint Venture Company in Cartagena (Spain), in the team involved in starting up the JV company and developing its normal operation, before returning to the Repsol Refining Planning team, this time to focus on market analysis and its impact on Repsol’s refining system. In 2020, she joined the Refining Transformation team, leading energy efficiency and decarbonization process developments, and since 2021 she is the head of the team.
