ANDREW GOULD
Andrew Gould serves as Conference Chairman for the Energy Intelligence Forum and is a member of the Energy Intelligence Advisory Board. Mr Gould is also a member of the boards of directors of Occidental Petroleum and McDermott International, and Chairman of BJ Energy Services.
Mr Gould was Chairman of the BG Group from May 2012 until its sale to Shell in February 2016. He previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Schlumberger from 2003 to 2012. In a 37-year career, Mr Gould has worked in Asia, Europe and the US. He has also served on the boards of directors of the BG Group (2012-16), Schlumberger (2002-12), Saudi Aramco (2013-20), and Rio Tinto PLC and Rio Tinto Limited (2002-12).
From 2004 to 2007, Mr Gould served on the Prime Minister’s Council for Science and Technology in the UK. He was Vice Chairman Technology for the United States National Petroleum Council’s 2007 report Facing the Hard Truths About Energy. He was awarded the Society of Petroleum Engineers Charles F Rand Gold Medal in 2014.
Mr Gould received his degree from the University of Wales and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He holds an honorary doctorate in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is an honorary Fellow of Cardiff University.
