Justus Igwe, a recent petroleum and gas engineering graduate, is currently a Research Assistant at the University of Port Harcourt. As an avid energy researcher, Mr Igwe published three papers on energy sustainability and renewables at the 2024 Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition. His first paper presentation at the 2024 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Africa Student Paper Contest in Uganda ranked him among the top five.

As Chapter President of the SPE University of Port Harcourt, Mr Igwe led his chapter to win the SPE International Outstanding Students Chapter Excellence Award. He was selected for both the 2023 International Petroleum Technology Conference in Thailand and the 2024 Offshore Technology Conference Asia in Malaysia.

Mr Igwe’s research focuses on integrating data science for energy sustainability.
