Isabel Hilton OBE is a London based writer and broadcaster. She has covered Latin America, South Asia, the EU and China for national and international media, including the Independent, the Guardian, the New Yorker and the BBC.   In 2006 she founded the China Dialogue Trust, reporting and publishing in Chinese and English on climate change and the environment.  She subsequently founded the thirdpole.net, to cover transboundary water in the Himalayan watershed, DialogoChino to report on China’s footprint in Latin America and China Dialogue Ocean. Ms Hilton left China Dialogue in 2023 to take up a variety of roles including as contributing editor at Prospect magazine and Señior Associate Fellow at RUSI. She consults and lectures widely on China, climate change and geopolitics.
