H.E. Václav Bartuška assumed the position of Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom.
In his new role, Václav Bartuška draws on his extensive experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served for more than nineteen years as Special Envoy for Energy Security and represented the Czech Republic in European institutions, in particular on the Board of Regulators of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators. In the past, he also served as Government Envoy for the expansion of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant and was active in academic and lecturing work. In his current position, he aims to further strengthen the excellent relations with the United Kingdom, especially in addressing today’s security challenges, and to foster political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
Since 2003, Mr Bartuška has taught modern history and security studies at New York University’s Prague campus, and in 2017, he joined Czech Technical University.
