James Sleeman is Co-Head of Global Energy Investment Banking at Bank of America. He has responsibility globally for BofA’s M&A and capital markets coverage of energy clients, subject areas including LNG, trading, energy infrastructure and refining/marketing, and leads BofA’s emerging low-carbon molecules activities and EV charging in Europe. James also oversees BofA’s wider energy, power, mining and energy transition activities in EMEA.

James joined Bank of America in 2010 from Citigroup, having started his career at Schroders in 1997. In the late 90s he worked primarily on asset transactions in the North Sea and combinations with UK independents, before being involved with several large downstream situations in Europe and the US, as well as significant corporate transactions in Russia and the CIS during the early 2000s. He then worked for the UK government on international energy policy, before returning to banking where more recently James has focused on projects with majors/integrateds, Middle Eastern NOCs, commodity traders and refining/marketing clients.

James holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Oxford University.
