Mr Sagar Adani joined the Adani Group in 2015 after graduating in Economics from Brown University, USA.
He started his career with hands-on roles in the projects division, which included extended stints living on-site during the construction of early solar plants in South India. He is credited with building the solar and wind portfolio of Adani Green Energy Ltd, where he currently oversees organisation building as well as all strategic and financial matters.
At a time when India's energy choices carry growing global weight, Mr. Adani is spearheading the Adani Group’s ambitious energy ventures. – along with overseeing Adani Green Energy's renewable portfolio, he is working closely across transmission and thermal power businesses that, together, form the group's broader energy platform.
This business model that he is managing currently operates nearly 20 gigawatts of renewable capacity, with a target to reach 50 gigawatts by 2030. Under his leadership, the once desolate salt land of Khavda in Gujarat is on track to emerge as one of the world’s largest renewable energy parks.
He is a strong advocate for the global energy transition, frequently championing rapid electrification and the integration of renewables with storage technologies (like Battery Energy Storage Systems) to deliver reliable, round-the-clock clean power. In addition, Mr Adani is responsible for the group's finances, including global investment engagement and capital management.
