Ashraf was appointed Executive Vice President Strategy & Corporate Development, effective April 1, 2023.

His organization is responsible for strategic planning, growth businesses, new energies, M&A transactions, and the development of Diversified Industries.

Prior to his current role, Ashraf was the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Market Analysis, where he led corporate strategy development, investments planning, global energy market analysis, and Enterprise Risk Management.

Ashraf also held various positions in the Finance organization where he was Aramco Group Treasurer and the Vice President of Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management, where he played a leading role in the development of the Aramco IPO.

Ashraf also held leadership positions at various organizations covering research & development, engineering, and capital planning.

Ashraf is the Chairman of the Board of Sadara Chemicals Company, Aramco Ventures, and the Aramco Development Company. He is also a board director at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH).

Ashraf has been with Aramco for over 31 years. He has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Manchester and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Program for Leadership Development.
