Alex Martinos is a Director of Energy Intelligence Research. Key focus areas of Energy Intelligence Research include the energy transition, corporate strategy and competitor intelligence, oil and gas/LNG markets, and aboveground risk.
Based in London, Mr Martinos leads Energy Transition Research, delivering analysis of oil and gas companies’ exposure and responses to climate-related risks. He also leads wider research into related policy and technology trends, as well as modeling and scenario analysis of potential future demand disruption. He contributes to integrated coverage across other Research areas, and bespoke Advisory engagements on evolving corporate strategy, the energy transition, aboveground country risk and geopolitical developments.
Prior to joining Energy Intelligence, Mr Martinos worked for Boston Consulting Group as an energy analyst covering a wide range of issues in the upstream oil and gas sector. He previously worked in equities research for several years, analyzing small and mid-cap E&P companies, and also gained experience covering the energy sector as a journalist.
Mr Martinos has a background in the study of diplomatic history and international relations, and holds an MA in history from Yale University, an MSc in history of international relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in history from Cambridge University.
