Speaker Bio
Lilly Yejin Lee is a master of public administration candidate at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and a Departmental Research Assistant at the Center on Global Energy Policy. In this role, Ms Lee is working with Professor Jason Bordoff, the Founding Director of the center, primarily on the geopolitics of the energy transition, and Dr James Glynn on energy systems modeling. Her research interests include sustainable mobility, energy storage and critical minerals. She is also the President of the Columbia Energy Association, the University’s student-led initiative.
Prior to joining the center, Ms Lee worked at the World Energy Outlook team in the International Energy Agency (IEA) as an Energy Modeler, focusing on the transportation sector. She has contributed to many of the IEA's flagship reports including the Net Zero by 2050 report, World Energy Outlook 2021 and the Role of Critical Minerals in Clean Energy Transitions, among others. Ms Lee has also worked on in-depth energy policy reviews of IEA member countries. Ms Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in international studies from Yonsei University, South Korea.
