2022 ENERGY ECONOMIST OF THE YEAR

Energy Intelligence is pleased to announce that Professor Lord Nicholas Stern, IG Patel Professor of Economics & Government; Chair of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change & the Environment – LSE, has been named as Energy Intelligence’s Energy Economist of the Year for 2022.

Professor Lord Nicholas Stern has been shaping global policies at the intersection of energy, climate and economics for more than two decades. His landmark 2006 report, The Economics of Climate Change: The Stern Review moved discussion about the economic costs associated with climate change from academic circles into mainstream consciousness. The report and his continued leadership of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, have put Stern’s ideas at the center of the way businesses and governments account for the impacts of climate change and make him a worthy winner of the inaugural Herman Franssen Energy Economist of the Year award.
