Dr. Steven Knell is Energy Intelligence’s President of Global Content. With over two decades of experience in energy research, analysis and advisory, Steven oversees all Energy Intelligence content areas, including Editorial, Research, Data, and Energy Intelligence’s popular annual Forum.

Steven joined Energy Intelligence from Wood Mackenzie, where he served as Vice President of its Power and Renewables consulting practice. In this role, he advised global investors and asset managers, power utilities, and oil and gas producers on buy and sell-side asset valuations, the commerciality of new energy business lines and market entry strategies.

Prior to Wood Mackenzie, Steven built his reputation as a global leader in energy and climate advisory while serving as Senior Director at IHS Markit in its flagship scenario service.

Steven is a Professor of Practice at the Centre for Energy and Climate Policy at SOAS University of London.

He took his Doctorate in International Relations at the University of Sussex, with a thesis on energy economics and climate politics, holds a Master of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA Honours in Politics from the University of Kent.
