Energy Intelligence is pleased to announce that Darren Woods, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Exxon Mobil Corporation, has been named Energy Intelligence’s Energy Executive of the Year for 2025.
The award recognizes Woods’ skillful guidance of Exxon’s strategy to grow its oil and gas portfolio, including the acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources and to develop its energy transition businesses including carbon capture, hydrogen and lithium. His leadership has positioned the company to succeed both now and into the future across a wide range of energy transition scenarios.
The award will be presented to Darren at the Energy Intelligence Forum which will be held in London, October 13-15, 2025.
The Energy Executive of the Year award is the international energy industry’s most prestigious award given in recognition of outstanding executive leadership in the energy sector.
Nominations for the award are solicited from over 100 of the world’s largest oil and gas companies, as they appear in Energy Intelligence’s annual TOP 100 Global NOC & IOC Rankings.
A confidential peer selection process involving current and former senior energy executives determines the final winner.
The award is presented by Energy Intelligence at the black-tie Energy Executive of the Year gala dinner, the marquee event of the Energy Intelligence Forum in London.
